Now, please meet…Chef Elizabeth! A long way from her hometown of Longview, Texas, Elizabeth Kaupus happily resides with her husband Ryan in Washington D.C. Elizabeth’s long history of working with children began by babysitting at the age of 12. Since then, she has been a nanny, a camp counselor and a children’s Bible teacher. Elizabeth’s culinary inspiration is her dad, a great chef, who allowed her to assist him as she grew up. Her love for Middle Eastern cuisine was fostered when she lived in Dubai for several years.
Chef Kimberlee Curtis, the Operations Manager of Cooking Thyme, is thrilled to be a part of this amazing team of chefs! Originally from York, PA (where the York Peppermint Patty was originally manufactured), she now lives with her husband Paul on Capitol Hill. Kimberlee’s delight in working in the kitchen was cultivated by working in a bakery during her college years. She loved the relational context that the making and eating of food created…and still does! Her hope for her students is that learning to cook would foster quality family time at home. Before joining the Cooking Thyme team, she worked with students and families at a K-8 Urban Classical school in Pennsylvania. She can’t think of a better job than combining her love of teaching children and cooking!
